Chili Con Carne

  • 700g minced beef
  • 15ml vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1q green pepper seeded and chopped
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • salt and pepper
  • 15ml chili powder
  • 15ml vinegar
  • 1tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp. tomato puree
  • 1 tin kidney beans


  1. Fry the beef in the oil until lightly browned, then add the onion and pepper and fry for a further 5 minutes
  2. Stir in the tomatoes and add the seasoning, chili powder, vinegar, sugar and tomato puree.
  3. Simmer for 30 – 40 minutes, add the kidney beans and cook for a further 10 minutes.
