Tomato & Basil Sauce

 

  • 2 Tins of plumb tomatoes
  • 30 Grams fresh Basil
  • 1 small onion
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • Salt & pepper
  • Vegetable oil
  • Tomato puree if required

 

  1. Finely chop the onion and crush the garlic in a pan with some oil. Cook over a low heat until onions are translucent about 7 – 8 minutes
  2. Add the 2 tins of tomatoes mixing them in crush them slowly against the side of the pan and reduce the sauce down slowly over about an hour.
  3. Add the finely chopped basil to the pan and cook of about 5 minutes, if required thicken with a spoonful of tomato puree
